19th Anniversary
My name is Ed. L. and I am an Alumni of Valley Hope, Atchison, Kansas. I will celebrate my 19 year anniversary on March 30th. I arrived at Atchison very late night on March 29th, and spent 30 days. In the beginning they were difficult, but by the time it came for me to fly back home to Chicago, I did not want to leave, because of the Love.
It took me years to come to admit my addictions, I was active for 32 years. I was 51 when I arrived at Valley Hope, Just last month I turned 70.
I often think of Valley Hope, still have my original Big Book with many signatures of the people I met while there. Since my anniversary was coming up I thought I might check to see if Valley Hope was listed on the net. I was pleased to find you are. I lived in Chicago from 1980 to 2001 at which time I retired and returned to my hometown (Birth) Pittsburgh, Pa.
It will be five years in May that I left Chicago and the many, many recovery friends that I made, I am in contact, but miss them. My love, my thoughts and my prayers remain with Valley Hope.
In Fellowship, in Friendship and Love to the patience and staff. Thank you.
P.S. So far I have not had the oppurtunity to make a return visit, but, we won't say never!
